Maddalyn's first birthday
Yesterday we celebrated Maddy's first birthday. We all released ballons up to our angel at the park by our house. It was a perfect moment watching them rise up further into the clear blue sky. The kids ran around and played and we all just enjoyed the sunshine. Later we came home and spent more time as a family with Maddys aunt and uncles and cousins. After everyone went home myself, Aaron, and the girls made cupcakes for Maddys birthday and sang Happy Birthday to our baby girl. It was a wonderful day. We love you so much babygirl. Happy Birthday!

I would like to start by introducing myself, my name is Kelly. I am the MA that assisted the neurologist that you brought Maddalyn to see right before she got sick. The pediatric neurology clinic is shuttting down with Suttons Children's Hopsital and as I was packing up and going through each of our charts I came across Maddalyn's. I realized we never saw her again, and started doing some research and saw where she had been in the hospital and how sick she got. I was on a mission at that point to find out what happened with this precious baby. My heart broke when I came across her passing, but then found your blog. I know I only met her once along with you and your husband but she touched me that day (which was also the begining of my research and education on Trisomy 18) and I have never forgot about you and your family. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and know that she touched one more person's life.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that I am just seeing this comment now. Thank you so much for your care and for remembering Maddy. I am so touched that she has made an impact on so many with her short life. I am so glad to see that she inspired you to learn more about trisomy 18, it is something that more light needs to be brought to with health care professionals so that these babies can get the right care and live and touch more lives. Thank you again for commenting.
